We’re delighted to have a new GUS training partner in the form of the National Offshore Wind Institute (NOWI). Based in New Bedford, USA, the site is conveniently located for the cluster of offshore wind projects off the coast of Rhode Island and Massachusetts. This includes Ørsted’s South Fork, Revolution and Sunrise windfarms which all have GUS systems on them, as shown in the recent video from American Offshore Services.
High quality training is critical for overall system safety, ensuring that GUS system operators and transferees are competent to perform both normal and emergency procedures (the above image shows the Personal Evacuation Device in use). NOWI’s instructors and facility, which includes a moving platform to replicate CTV deck heave motion, are top class and we’re excited to be supporting them as they open for training.
